Yes we named it. All "good" Rover owners name them before somebody else does it for them..
This is our Land Rover "Flivver". I'll get a now photo that shows what it looks like with the soft top on.
Getting Ready
My shoulder hurts like hell and there is still work to do.
We have 6 days left, counting today, before we depart for a Rover ride of 5000km to reach family in Montana. I've never driven Flivver our 1966ish Land Rover such a distance before. I am nervous yet excited and looking forward to the task ahead. The question could be asked.... Why not take a newer and more reliable automobile. Well...... because....... thats why. Actually it is the challenge of taking something Father and Son built on a trip. It is about doing something that can be looked back upon for years as we part and go our own way when patrick finishes Highschool next year. The saying goes..... do it while you can.
Patrick and I will take turns driving. We are taking our small travel trailer(13' Fiberglass Boler.) We are taking the canvas top. (We just switched tops yesterday.) Our dog Taxi will ride along as well.
Tomorrow our Friend Pete will help us put in an overdrive borrowed from another friend (John C.)
The rain has quit. Back out to the Rover.
